Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) is about to expose an affair or two. This time, though, the residents of Pine Valley have nothing to fear. Lucci will be focusing her sights on real-life affairs.
Lucci has been tapped to host a new reality series called Deadly Affairs for the Investigation Discovery channel. Considering Lucci's 41 years of experience on All My Children, she would seem to be the perfect host.
"There is simply no other actress in the world more qualified than Susan Lucci to host Deadly Affairs," Investigation Discovery president Henry Schleiff said. "After all, Susan's alter ego, Erica Kane, created her fair share of steamy scandals and deadly dalliances, often all in one hour. While our series, of course, has the added benefit of featuring real stories of betrayal, we are delighted that Susan will bring her own distinctive voice and dramatic flair to our real life soap."
Deadly Affairs will begin filming in March and is slated to debut as a ten-part series in the fall. The series will cover everything from "love triangles that implode to office romances exposed; from sleeping with the enemy to bedding your best friend's husband; and from grooms ditching the ceremony with a bridesmaid in tow to swingers deciding the grass actually is greener."
In November, Lucci reported to work on the Lifetime series, Army Wives. Lucci will appear in the short-term role of the wife of a retired general.
