What I learned Day of Our Lives this week:

This week I learned that claustrophobia can be cured by sex. Thanks, DOOL! It's good to know that you're on top of the latest medical breakthroughs. Chloe and Lucas got it on in an elevator! Chloe's still gorgeous, Lucas still has bad hair, but at least this plotline is mildly interesting.

EJ and Nicole on the other hand... They were in the next elevator over, and the difference was astounding. I really, really like those two together.

And poor Sami... okay, I can't say "Poor Sami," with a straight face. Hopefully now that both of her men have moved on, she'll get some good revenge, plot something, etc. I want a return to the Sami of yore!

What else? Um, Daniel and Chelsea still creep me out. It's not the age difference that bothers me so much as the fact that watching the two of them together is akin to watching grass grow. We were bombarded this week with Bo's disapproval, and OMG, it's so much like how Doug didn't approve of Bo and Hope... Daniel and Chelsea must therefore be just like Bo and Hope! Give me a fricking break. They are not just like Bo and Hope, because Bo and Hope have oodles and oodles of chemistry, and Daniel and Chelsea have none.

Speaking of lack of chemistry, there's Morgan and Phillip. *snore*

At least Tamara Braun is around to keep things interesting as Ava! I love her so much. John destroyed the disk with his memories this week, but I have a feeling that he'll eventually get them back somehow and go back to being the old John. That's too bad however, I'm quite enjoying this incarnation. Maybe they can take a page from General Hospital's book and pull a Jason Morgan on John? Jason still hasn't gotten back his memories and it's what--twelve, thirteen years later?

All My Children July 30/07

The Good, the bad.... and the Ugly.

The Good:

Today’s episode killed me…. I actually cried, and I’m not talking about watery eyes here people…. I’m talking about multiple free flowing tears.

-Erica Kane got into Kendall’s hospital bed and held her distraught daughter…… and told her “No baby, don’t cry.”   Smiley

Just WOW…. I never thought I would see that kind of scene between Erica and Kendall.

I’m getting emotional just thinking about that….. and I want to go hug my own mommy. LOL

Damn hormones.... yeah that must be it.

I would love today’s episode just for that scene alone… but there were some other bright spots as well.

-Thorsten Kaye (Zach) took a scene with just a cell phone (his only prop) and turned that scene into one of the most emotional scenes I’ve ever seen on All My Children.

I am in awe of this man’s acting ability.  Smiley

The audience is use the “unbreakable Zach” we’ve all become accustomed to…. Well Thorsten just broke him….. and I cried.

I’m a huge Zach fan…. and I’ve watched him intently during his years on AMC.

So when he lost it today, it felt like years of his bottled up frustrations came rolling out as well.

This situation with his son has to bring up sad memories of his past with Ethan (his dead son)…. And in some ways I think it’s also made him think of his own father (Alexander Sr.)

The bad:

-Josh giving Greenlee a ride home. Arghhhhh!!!!!!

I swear.... if he stands by the woman that stole his nephew….. he’s going to be dead as a door nail to me!

He always chooses a hot piece of ass over his own family. Smiley

-Jack standing up for Greenlee.
I know she's his daughter.... but common! He knows she did something wrong.
He can be there for Greenlee all he wants (as a parent I would expect no less)..... but to just turn a blind eye to her is not the best fatherly thing to do.

The Ugly:

The Fusion scenes.

They were for lack of a better word…..crap.

It was so just so bad, I’m at an actual loss for words.

*Rant* (I had to let it out)

1) I don’t give a shit about Babe saving Fusion!!!!! (The whole fact that she’s working there period, is a huge complaint from the majority of viewers. It only makes us angrier.)

2) And I especially DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT AVA BEING A MODEL!!!! Smiley

I really thinks it's time for AMC to  drop the whole Fusion thing.

I wanted to hold on to it for Kendall... but I just wish it would die now.

AMC & Days
  AMC -

I hate how mean everyone is to Ava. Ava is mostly only guilty of trying to hard. Lily could be Fusion's new daytime and Ava could be the night. The campaign would be much better to show the 'same' face with both looks.

Kendall stood by every scheme JR pulled no matter whom got hurt until she was the one put in jeopardy by him. I understand her anger but how does she think everyone else felt when he had caused them pain?

 Days -

I haven't been a regular Days viewer since the "presumed dead island" storyline but I am now catching it from time to time.

The last information I had was that Belle's father John was wealthy owned his own company called "Basic Black". Although now she and Shawn (I know he is Claire's bio. dad) are living with Phillip, considered moving in with Bo & Hope, Phillip had to set-up a job interview for Shawn, Phillip acted as if Belle would be uncomfortable at the country club, etc. Couldn't John give Shawn &/or Belle a job?

I like Sami with Lucas but I also like her with EJ. I know he forced her to have sex with him but I think he truly regrets it and cares for her. I enjoy how EJ refers to her as "Samantha" & a lady, as Brandon did, instead of  "Sami"  & the town screw-up as most of the Salem residents have.

First post
I decided to try out this feature for the purpose of writing story outlines for AMC characters that end up wasting away in the attic because no-one bothers to write for them.  The typical excuse being that because of their diversity (this pretty much covers anyone who isn't physically or neurologically typical, white, heterosexual, bio-gender identified, or Christian), can only be written in the limited capacity of plot device for short term morality/social relevance plays.

I may occasionally include storylines for other ABCD characters, but AMC is the worst offender, and the one show I'm most emotionally invested in.

Right now, the big stink in the AMC forum is one I'd really like to write about first, but it would reference spoilers, so I'm going to start out with a Lily/Ava story instead.

My creative writing skills are amateur at best, so if anyone wants to help out with dialog, or the like, please feel free to add your suggestions to the comments.  If you use a colored text and italics within a quote, it will make it easy for me to copy the block into the next draft for editing (and give me assumed permission to use it for this purpose), and I will post credit and a link back to your blog.

Possible exit strategy for Levin.
Final resolution: By September; Lily and Ava move to Cambridge, Ma.  Lily will attend MIT, and Ava will attend Emerson (its a college for communications and the performing arts).  They will share an apartment in Cambridge, close to MIT so that Lily can walk to classes and not have to deal with crowds on the T.

The following are random thoughts about scenes and story ideas to lead up to the resolution.
sort of like tossing all of the pieces of a puzzle onto the table, and then sorting them out to put them together, like corners, edges, blocks of background and foreground, etc.  Please feel free to add suggestions!  If I like it, I may use it as is or edit it to fit.

1)
Lily spends the night with Ava at Wildwind Lily and Ava are swimming at the boathouse.  They begin to talk about their hopes and dreams/plans.  Lily talks about her desire to attend MIT, and her plan to get there.  Ava asks her why she would wait so long to go to MIT, when she has the resources to go sooner.  She's certainly smart enough to be accepted, and Jack, as her father, is certainly capable of paying for it.  Lily looks down and withdraws slightly.  She says she isn't competent yet.

Ava looks very surprised and  asks her what the heck is that supposed to mean.
Lily tells Ava about the competency hearing, and how even though Jack dropped it, she must not be competent if he went to such extremes to begin with, and because of how she was taken advantage of.
Ava turns away under the pretense of getting something out of her eye, but we can see that her face has gone dark with anger.  She turns around suddenly and splashes water at Lily in a playful way to try to change the mood.(I don't recall Lily having and water issues) Ava tells Lily "Competency-Schmopetency"!  Lily gets a little stuck trying to process the idiom and Ava explains that being naive doesn't mean you're incompetent.  That even so-called normal , "Competent" (she does the finger quote thing) adult women get taken advantage of like that sometimes, and what she really needs are some lessons in street smarts.
(depending on how certain spoilers turn out, she may be able to cite a recent personal example)

2)
Ava storms into Jacks office and starts reading him the riot act about where does he get off making Lily think she's incompetent.  Jack does that little surprised jump back thing he does and looks at her with that vaguely amused WTH are you talking about look.  Ava reads him like a book and calls him on his patronizing manner (something like "don't you EVEN give me that 'what is this little girl talking about?' look!  I'm not a little girl, and neither is Lily.  It's time you started treating her with the respect she deserves, instead of like some pretty little china doll you keep on a shelf because you're afraid she's going to break.")
Jack glowers at her and starts to get defensive, but then stops, switches gears, and asks Ava to "have a seat" and please, calmly explain to him what brought all this on.  Ava looks at him suspiciously, but then decides he's actually taking seriously and sits down with a rather smug expression.  Jack turns the tables back on her and tells her that if she wants respect from him, she needs to earn it by giving him the same.
Ava tones it down, and then proceeds to tell Jack about her conversation with Lily at the boathouse.  Ava tells him that he is holding Lily back by treating her like a little kid and that it's making her feel bad about herself, and in fact, fas guilty as Ava may be for the dishonest things she's done, Jack is just as guilty with all the lies and covering up of things he's done in order to protect Lily.  Jack brings up that yes, all of those things were done to *protect* Lily, and why wouldn't he ant to protect her, he's her father.  He talks about how Lily is special because of her ASD, and so she needs more protection than a normal child would.
Ava tells him she thinks that's a load of Bull; that Lily might need to be taught certain things that come naturally for most people, but there is no reason she can't learn them; that maybe they should start by not protecting her from so much.  Jack tells her "Yes, but..."..Ava gets frustrated and says "No 'BUTs'..Jack says ok, so are you going to start your by telling her abot everythig *you've* done?  You saw what happened with Johnathan, do you think she'll forgive your lies any more than she has his?  Ava looks really frightened at this prospect, but then steels herself and  says "You know what? Yes.  Yes I am.  and I'm going to prove to you that Lily isn't some doll made of glass, and that she's not going to break if she knows that the people around her aren't perfect."(exit)

More later...it's suppertime now>^_^<

AMC

Kendall should stay with Zach, Ryan should remain with Annie, and Greenlee should be with Josh.

Annie was right that Zach doesn't only owe Greenlee but everyone else who had bio. material stored at that clinic during the blackout as well. Regardless of his intentipns to Kendall, he took the hopes, time, investments, and lives of so many others into his own hands.

Sean was a jerk to Ava. He doesn't have the right to say she is "nothing" because of his so-called feelings for Colby. Ava wasn't "nothing" when Sean was sleeping with her. He doesn't respect himself or women. Colby would be better off without him.

Lily should go away to school. Levin could remain on the show as Ava and she and Jonathan can become happily involved.

It is soooooooooo past due for Kathy to be revealed as Kate.
