Why So Serious?
I only have a few notes on GH, mainly: They should never have killed Ian Devlin for this boring Matt Hunter guy, who is a villain anyway; Johnny is so cute with Lulu, even if he is going in over his head and is nuts to be laughing at a time like this (nuts but cute); and this Karpov deal is not grabbing me at all. I am looking forward to Night Shift tonight, though! I had missed it!

What I really came to say is: WHO HAS SEEN THE DARK KNIGHT?!!!

I saw it on opening day, and it is the best action movie and comic book movie ever! We got the last showing of the 18th, because all the other evening/night showings were sold out! We went in at 10pm lol It was worth it! I'm in love and crazy-obsessed with the movie now! Which is saying a lot for a picky fanatic such as myself. I've seen tons of big action movies, comic book movies, crime dramas, thrillers, and almost everything regarding Batman (except the old, old show), and I was still blown away. Amazing. I won't go into spoilers, I'll only say that while it was an excellent movie to begin with, Heath Ledger made it. He made the entire thing. Everyone else was great (disregarding Bale's campy Bat-voice), but Heath was magic. I feel robbed of an encore in the third Batman movie :-( Such a great talent . . . Never mind "great", he was unbelievable. Genius. I do agree with everyone else that he should be nominated for an Oscar, and I also believe he has to win!

I have several posts regarding the movie, some with clearly-marked spoilers and some without any spoilers, and opinions at my normal blog, which has been taken over by a clown theme *grin* Here: http://gypsy-lina.livejournal.com/

I'm preparing to drop a small fortune in birthday money (my birthday's Aug. 4) on the 1/6 scale action figures now. Search "Hot Toys Dark Knight" on Ebay, and you'll see what I'm up against :/ The fervor for Dark Knight kitsch is off the chain! It isn't just normal toy-collecting nerds like me anymore, it's like . . . everyone! There are tons of scams, fake autographs, and all kinds of stuff. Good thing I'm a savvy buyer and know what I want (even if what I want is damn expensive anyway) . . . The figures will go well with my Superman Returns 1/6, which I scrimped and saved for last year. Hahaha, fun! Joker's gonna get his hands on Supes ;-)

Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger found dead in his NY city apartment. 1979-2008

I know everyone is probobly going to be talking and writing about this, but I just had to say my peace, he was one of my favorites and I've liked him since I saw him in one of my favorite fun movies "10 thing I hate about you" watched him in "The Patriot" of course there's always "Brokeback Mountain" and I was and still am looking forward to seeing him as The Joker in the upcoming "Batman Dark Night" movie.

Now, we all have to listen to everyone who met him for a millisecond saying they were his best friend and why and how this happened, when no one knows.

He left behind a 2 yr old daughter that he had with his Brokeback co-star Michelle Williams

I hate the speculation Drug overdose- accidental drug overdose-Suicide-accidental suicide-WHATEVER

A talented man lost his life, and all these so called entertainment shows reporting gossip and untruths need to stop, and just attempt to wait for all the facts to come out. Yeah that will happen., But I can hope.

He's probobly going to become a mythic figure now like James Dean, or River Phoenix, Ive heard his upcoming role as the "Joker" in "Batman" is very dark and reminds people of Brandon Lee in "The Crow"

He'll be remembered.

Whispers and Goings-Ons
Oh, I hear Sarah Brown is coming back, but I don't want her as Carly anymore. Sorry, I just really enjoy Laura Wright as Carly; she's vivacious and really slim and just cool. I normally don't like the character too much, but I have really gotten used to LW's Carly. And, really, I wanted Brenda/Vannessa Marcil back, not Sarah Brown necessarily Smiley

Anyway, I am totally in love with Johnny Zacchara. He is smooth, cool, and an excellent addition to the mob scene! The new generation of the mafia. I like him, and I'm rooting for Johnny/Lulu big-time! I know he's a mob boss and the danger and all that, but Logan is a failed mob soldier, anyway. So, who do you choose? Failed mob soldier or newly-crowned mob boss? I'm biased, of course. Logan is cool, tough, but Johnny has that dark hair and those eyes, and all that angst, the cool, creepy estate he angsts in . . . Yep. Biased. lol

I watched too much Batman as a child. Speaking of which, any Bat-fans around? I'm so, so, so looking forward to the next movie! I've been blogging about it all winter in my other, non-soap blog over at LJ! Is it too much hype? Mmm . . . I love hype, so I don't think so. Some people are saying it's overload. I say, until the entire movie plot is leaked online, it's not too much. And if that happens, I just wouldn't read it, of course!

One last final note: PC is becoming Gotham City, isn't it? All these murders, oohh. I love it! Yes, I am sad about Emily (and intrigued by her reemergence as a ghost), and the next character going has me kind of sad, too, but I am a sucker for murder mysteries. Even around Christmas. Like I said, too much Batman as a child LOL
