I just wanted to check in and post my favorite and least favorite parts of the debate as well as my commentary on some certain issues.

Lets start with the how everyone was "surprised" that Palin did well. Honestly, I wasn't surprised. She is a strong woman that generally stands up for what she believes in (more on that later). Fact is, she has faced some interview questions more difficult than either of the presidential candidates (in phrasing rather than the questions themselves). When commentators are out to "catch" a candidate they will be successful...now Palin has honestly minimized the damage...but there was no getting around those questions. I would like to see ONE interview where Obama was really challenged as much as Palin (and the George Stephanopoulos and O'Reilly interviews were only half as bad as Palin's so those can't be referenced). Bottom line is Palin did well b/c she wasn't edited and the commentator was warned not to be overly biased.

Now where Palin went wrong...The fact is that Palin is a VP candidate and she is supposed to primarily mirror McCain. However, Palin is considerably more conservative than her running mate. As a result, she can sound like she is memorizing for an exam as people call it b/c she doesn't believe it. She has her own beliefs and is a very intelligent woman...I have no doubt that she is qualified to be VP (especially if Obama is considered qualified to be president) but she will always resort to issues that her and McCain actually agree on. That brings me to the specific annoyance I had with one of her answers...when asked about what to do about this crisis her answer was a McCain talking point, i.e. go after wallstreet. Okay no, this is not where the problem lies and I linked an article in the last blog to slightly elude to this. But in the end we should be angry w/ our government for this issue...we have lending institutions being pushed into lending to risky people and the only ones who won was the government....Now they have even more control. So this was a bad but not unexpected answer from Palin.

I will get to Biden in a minute, but on the up side Palin really spoke to the American people. She even told people that they may not here her answer their way but she was going to talk to the heart of America. I thought Palin generally did well and she certainly nailed this one (considering that her and McCain are so far apart on the issues).

Last note on Palin. If McCain had a do-over...he would re-pick Palin..there was not another person that would have been better for McCain and the media response proves it. People think she should resign for more minor comments during gotcha interviews...yet Biden gets strait forward questions and goofs them up way worse than Palin could even dream of doing. (i.e. FDR and television AFTER he says the VP candidate needs to have an understanding of facts...best line ever).

Now the up for Biden is that the commentator did not give him enough time to really goof up like he is known for doing...Good Job...he didn't mess up on the biggest event-I think the liberal media kinda got this right...Biden did turn in the performance of a lifetime b/c he didn't screw up!

Now I don't agree w/ Biden on many issues but these two really irked me. Biden said that w/ Obama they would try to give judges the right to change the interest rate on people's houses to keep them from foreclosing AND even adjust the principle. WHAT! Excuse me, but can I have my principle adjusted on my home? Uh..that would be a no! This would thus allow even more corruption in the system...so much for change! Also, for the democrats, do you not think that this could be abused by the rich as well...so who gets screwed...yet again the middle class...they can't use influence and the make too much money. So how is Obama the candidate for the middle class?

The other comment Biden made that annoyed me was saying that global warming IS caused entirely by man. He even went on to say that we have to know the cause b/f we can fight it...a shot at Palin. So, I will start out by agreeing. As a scientist, I think we would LIKE to know the problem b/f we fight it but that doesn't always work in science. The problem is we don't know the full causes of global warming and Palin's answer was considerably more adequate it left room for all processes. If the scientific community is still unsure how big (if any) the role of human's is how does Biden (or rather the democrat party b/c I don't fault Biden at the talking points of the campaign) KNOW what is causing global warming?

Finally, to those who are pointing out the inaccuracies of Palin's answers. Look at your VP candidate, Biden said at least 10 factually wrong statements...lied right through his teeth AND several more that could be argued. The spin is on the side of the democrats and has entirely exploded to try to ensure that Obama wins. Good luck! At least American's are starting to wake up to the enormous media bias....it only took the majority of media outlets trying to sway an election to show people what they are really about.

Eric and Jessica kissed this past Saturday.  Eric finally got to compete in the Veto Comp and he won.  Later that night he and Jessica got really close and Eric pulled her in and kissed her.  They kissed a couple of times.  I don't think Eric ever thought he would get a girl like Jessica but Jessica is crazy about him.  I love it when Eric told her that if she win he's going to celebrate and buy her a tanning bed but Jessica said you don't have to because we'll be married and Eric was like we both can use it.  They always talk about how they are getting married and how Eric is moving to Kansas.  They are the cutest couple on the show ever!  I really hope they both make it to the finally two and that they really end up together.  I just hope Eric gets out of his insecurities.  If Jessica responds to him in one way, he gets nervous about it and keeps questioning her.  Like when he kissed her and she said he was a good kisser, he was like "Really?".  And he kept asking her like why she just laid there while he was kissing her, did his breathe stink, etc.  He needs to calm down.  Jessica does whatever he says so he should feel confident that she wants him.

 

Finally PLEASE GET RID OF DICK!

OMG! Patrick can not dance to save his life.  When he grabbed Layla's hand to dance I thought some of Noah's rock genes would have pasted on to Patrick but that sucker had no rhythm! The camera angle tried to have Layla stand in front of him so we wouldn't see how badly a dancer he was but we saw it.  No wonder Robin had that look on her face.  It wasn't because Patrick was dancing with Layla, it was because OF his dancing.    Otherwise horrible episode.

 

 

BYE BYE KAIL, HA HA DICK AND DANI HA HA HA!! GO LNC, GO ERIC, GO JESS!!

 

I don't like Jameka anymore.  Her "Christian" behavior is really pissing me off.  If she has even read the bible she would know that being on this show is in direct contrast to what the bible says.  The lying, the backstabbing, the love of money, that's not something God would condone.

So now that Evil Dick has won HOH, I excepted him to get a little big headed but I thought he would calm down with yelling at people.  Sad to see he hasn't.  It's great for him to call people on on their lies but I don't understand why he has to call them out on the same lie like 8 times in one day!  In the past 2 days, he's been going off on Kali like crazy.  I'm no Kali fan but if you call her out once and everyone knows it, there is no reason why Dick should be going to her every second and rehashing the same conversation with her.  Yesterday he went off on her because it seems like she wasn't upset that she didn't win Veto and was still on the block.

 

Jen won Veto!  Jen-a-cide gets on my nerves but she's a great game player. 

 

Nick and Dani is getting on my nerves only because I thought Dani was a stronger player and a stronger person.  She is going to lose her boyfriend who she has been with for 3 years and who she claims she wants to spend the rest of her life with.  Well Nick and Dani were kissing each other last night and I don't think her boyfriend would really appreciate that.  I do believe Nick likes her but Dani needs to keep focused.  I don't believe Jen-a-cide when she says her and Nick pretend to hate each other and is in a secret alliance.  They never talk!  I never see Nick around Jen for more than a second.

 

Zach got naked and jumped in the pool after everyone kind of dared him.  Than afterward everyone started talking about his small package (very small package) for the rest of the day.  They call him ugly, Shrek and now they are going on and on about his small penis. They are also grossed out by Zach saying he wanted to eat Jessica's panites.  Zach is nasty and needs to leave.

 

Hanging in there is my girl Jameeka and Jessica.  If you only watch the CBS show you would hate Jessica.  But if you watch BBAD or read the live feeds, she is a riot. 

 

Eric is funny also.  Amber......still hate her.  Dustin is cool also but he really needs to step up.  People see him as a threat but I dont see how he is.

 

Dick also wish he was younger so he could get with Jessica.

 

Mike actually spoke the other day and went toe to toe with Dick.  Mike was saying how he has to be loyal to his alliance but Dick busted him out telling him where was his loyalty when he threw Kali under the bus last week and vote for Joe to leave.  But I am starting to like Mike more and more.  He really knows the game.  Dick is telling everyone he is putting Mike up with Kali.  I just hope Mike stays.
