Bree @ soapcentral.com
Hi all. I hope everyone's holidays have been as great as mine. I got almost 2 weeks off of school so that's a definite plus, LOL. For Christmas I got season 4 of Frasier, season 7 of Seinfeld, the complete series of Everybody Loves Raymond, chocolates, and a couple books about cats. I'm a sucker for cats...I hope I get married someday 'cause if I don't I have little doubt that I will end up a lonely old man with hundreds of cats
I made a New Year's Resolution as well...I'm gonna come on here more often. I mean it this time! New Year's is a time to start fresh and that's exactly what I'm gonna do!
You would not believe the snow we're getting! It's amazing! The town I live in never plows the roads so the roads are dangerous...not a fan of this development. On Saturday we got a major snowstorm and we were gonna go to Hudson, WI to visit my aunt Sue but 'cause of the damned snow it's been postponed to the 24th. Also, school is going well for me, I don't really have any major complaints. I'm happy with my grades and we're wrapping up the first semester soon so my report card will probably come home with all A's (my main concern right now is to get the B I have in health up to an A, which I'm pretty sure I'm capable of). So yeah, my life is on a good streak right now
The rest of this blog is for DH fans...
So I was pretty impressed with the first 2009 episode. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Susan and Lee. They're two favorites of mine and the scenes of them together are dynamite! It's funny Lee started out despising Susan but they love each other now. Susan thought they made love...I love and will always love Susan's awkwardness
And I'll never forget the scene with Susan and Gabrielle in the kitchen and Bob coming in to interrogate Susan about the possible liasion that occured between her and Lee...I laughed along with Gabrielle!!!!!! I'm glad Lee saved Susan from possibly sabotaging her relationship by moving in with Jackson. I'm also glad Susan and Jackson aren't moving in together...for one, they can't be together, it HAS to be Susan and Mike. Second of all, Susan can't leave! But I'm pretty sure no one thought she would actually leave.
The most intense s/l going on right now is Lynette. It's amazing! The Scavo family is really up shit creek! Bob is under legal obligation to report to the police the fact that Porter skipped town. And the pizzeria is their collateral...sucky, much? I was very impressed the way Lynette manipulated Preston into calling Porter and telling him to come home. She is so awesome! And do you know who else is so awesome? Stella! Who is back! Happy days!!!!!!
I've never seen Joanna Cassidy in anything before, but her performance as Melina on Sunday really impressed me! "I call Christmas." Priceless! Yeah this is one eccentric individual and she seems to have her son under wraps. She convinced him to move away from Fairview pretty quick, don't you think? I love how Bree sunk to her level and bought that house...well not yet but she told Orson to contact Edie. And apparently Andrew and Alex are planning on having kids...I like that idea, I think it'll be nice to see Andrew as a daddy
So what more crap do you think Melina will pull?
There is nothing not to love about Carlos and Gabrielle's chemistry. It's hilarious...but in a charming way. I dunno, kinda hard to explain, but the bottom line is I love them together! Carlos is touched by the beauty of the ladybug and the spider...and Gabrielle being Gabrielle kills them both...again, nothing not to love about their chemistry. There was also a funny little scene where Gabrielle told Carlos about his job offer but he decides to work with the blind.
Gabrielle: Carlos, Bradley's job is offering perks! What kind of perks is this blind thing offering?
Carlos: Well, let me see...making the world a better place, doing something fulfilling.
Gabrielle: Carlos, I spent the last 5 years working with the blind. Trust me, it's not that fulfilling!
Gabrielle and the girls have made lots of sacrifices the past 5 years and I think they deserve some bread on the table. Having said that, Gabrielle is definitely doing this for the wrong reasons...her looking at her designer's shoes and smirking pretty much gives away what her true intentions are. I do feel for Carlos though, I don't think this Bradley is much fun to work with. Carlos has made it clear he doesn't like Bradley and it looks like Bradley may have an ugly divorce ahead of him. Maybe after the divorce his wife will have taken a lot of his money so maybe he'll be forced to sell the company...wouldn't it be awesome if he sold it to Carlos??? Or if he died or something and Carlos got it? That'd be very cool! Probably even more pay!
Dave is weirding me out...what else is new? I always thought he looked kinda strange, but he looked terrible last night. He's out of pills, so maybe killing his doctor wasn't such a good idea after all. Speaking of which, Mrs. McCluskey and Roberta finally made it to the doctor's office. LOVED that scene where they were bickering with the receptionist.
Receptionist: Is that a beer?
Mrs. McCluskey: We're not at liberty to say.
After waiting a while, Roberta got tired of it and decided to bag the whole Dave thing. She left and Mrs. McCluskey went running after...one second later the receptionist says "Wisteria Lane" over the phone. Just one of those moments that make you say, "Oh shoot!" Let's hope Roberta stays around! It was freaky the way Dave was talking to his dead wife...I applaud Edie for finally coming to her senses and throwing Dave out. She really did marry a stranger, she had no idea he was married before and she still has no idea he had a daughter. I love that final scene with Mrs. McCluskey and Dave staring at each other...their first encounter after Dave had Mrs. McCluskey sent to the hospital.
Spoilers...
Next week, "Connect! Connect!"...
Susan and Edie accidentally lock themselves in a basement. Susan slaps Edie across the face. Dave moves one step forward with his revenge plot.
Lynette's in a car accident.
Bree does something else to sabotage Melina, but the results aren't favorable for her.
Gabrielle's lost control of the girls. She tells the roofer to force them to clean up their toys, and he does! Apparently, he's like a drill sargeant or something. Gabrielle wants Carlos's help.
Episode thirteen, "The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened", January 18...
In the 100th episode, Susan has another event of bad luck...a roofer named Eli is found dead on her roof. All the housewives realize Eli really was a big part of their lives. He supported Susan every time a major relationship of hers ended, he helped Lynette when she was overwhelmed and neglected Penny, he did one small thing for Bree that helped her get to where she is today, he helped Gabrielle make new friends when she first moved onto Wisteria Lane, and he was good friends with Edie. Rex, Mrs. Huber, and Mary Alice appear in flashbacks. Also, Yao Lin, Gabrielle's maid from season 1 (no, not the one that Carlos slept with) also appears.
Episode fourteen...
Susan and Mike try to get MJ accepted into a private school.
We meet Bree's book publisher. Bree will need Andrew's help more than ever 'cause she's expected to write 3 books and she may be starting a TV show.
Gabrielle tries to squeeze into the dress she wore when she and Carlos first got engaged. I guess she can't squeeze into it 'cause she and another woman go to fat camp.
Episode fifteen...
Bradley is cheating on his wife. Gabrielle confronts the woman he's sleeping with.
Sometime this season, we'll find out Mike isn't the only one Dave's after.
Good Bye
“It seems to be a simple concept,” Mary Alice opined “But saying good bye is rarely easy. Just ask my friends who had to say good bye to me all those years ago. Susan Meyers was having a hard time saying good bye to a woman she both loathed and loved, Edie Britt.”
“Susan, I just don’t understand you.” Mike Delfino said, standing up form his chair. “I mean you hated the bitch, so why are you crying that she’s dead? She brought it on herself.”
“How can you say that?” Susan screamed. “Mike that is a disgusting hateful thing to say a bout Edie. You were involved with her at one point.”
“It was the biggest mistake of my life.” Mike said, then shook his head. “I say she deserved it because she was having an affair with a married man.”
“How do you know that?” Susan asked, watching Mike very carefully. “Why do you think that she was having an affair with a married man?”
“Because every night a man went to her house, and entered through the back door.” Mike informed her, as if it were public knowledge. “He’d stay an hour or two then leave.”
“Oh my God.” Susan lost her breath, the phone rang. She almost didn’t answer it until she noticed that it was Bree. “Hey Bree, what’s up?”
“I know this is most inconvenient but the police want to question us, again.” Bree said tersely “All four of us.”
“Ok, I’ll get ready are we going to car pool?” Susan asked, wondering if she should mention what Mike had told her to the police.
“Gabby, you and myself, Lynnette is at the doctors office right now.” Bree relayed this tid bit of information as though it were confidential. “I do hope she isn’t pregnant.”
“Lynette Scavo was not one for waiting around, in her earlier career as a high ranking advertising woman, she wouldn’t tolerate when her underlings were late with a project, and may times they either quit in tears or were escorted out after trying to hit her. On this day she was forced to wait for her doctor to come in and confirm what she suspected.” Mary Alice said.
“What the hell is taking so long?” Lynnette yelled at herself for the thousandth time. Itching herself in the process. “He better get his ass in here.” She paced around the room again trying to figure out what to do and how to break the news to Tom that she truly was pregnant again. After what seemed like an eternity, the door opened.
“Hello Mrs. Scavo.” The doctor greeted her warmly. “I understand we are a bit nausea and a few days late with our menstrual cycle.”
“We?” Lynette asked, she knew that her anger was irrational but there was no stopping the eruption from happening. “We? Since this is we, why don’t you take the next round of vomiting and stay up all night tonight!” She screamed.
“Calm down, Mrs. Scavo.” The doctor said, he was used to Lynette’s outbursts, he had been the one to tell her about the previous four pregnancies. “I do not believe you are pregnant this time.”
“What is it then?” Lynette asked, calming down, wondering why her temper had flared up as it just had.
“Stay calm.” The doctor looked around, afraid of what might be thrown at him. “You may be going through the early stages of menopause.” He stepped to the side as his glass jar of cotton balls sailed towards him. It shattered on impact. “I’m glad I didn’t tell you that your cancer had recurred.”
“My three other friends made their way to the police station and all of them were having second thoughts about what they could actually say to the police, There was no new hard evidence of anything happening. Though two of them were about to get the surprise of a lifetime.” Mary Alice noted.
“Susan, why have you been so quiet?” Gabby asked her friend. She was still suspicious of Carlos but knew she had to take care of this first.
“Just thinking, why are you so quiet?” Susan asked back.
Gabby sat quiet for a second, then realized that she needed her friends help more than anything else in the world. “I think Carlos is having an affair.”
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOO My God.” Susan breathed out uneasily, as the two pieces of information twirled together in her mind and suddenly made perfect sense. She didn’t want to tell Gabby what she knew but decided nit was the right thing to do.
“Quit being so dramatic Susan.” Bree admonished. “If you have something to say just say it.”
“I think Carlos was having an affair with Edie.” Susan said staring forward, so she wouldn’t have to see Gabbys face.
Bree screamed and threw her cell phone at Susan. Susan picked it up and gasped. It read Text Message from Rex. “Somebody is doing this to torment me.” She said the breath leaving her body. “Please read what it says.”
Susan flipped open then phone, her face went white. “What is it?” Gabby asked from the back seat, still trying to get her mind around what Susan had said.
“I am alive bitch!” Susan read, and seen the tears in Brees eyes for the first time since Rex’s funeral.
“While all my friends had a lot on their plates, none of them realized that lurking around the corner was the biggest test of them all. A test so hard that it made even saying good bye, seem easy.” Mary Alice summarized.
“I want all four of those bitches to pay.” The blonde woman said, her back facing the door. “I don’t care how much it costs or what lengths I have to go to.”
Hello troopers...let's talk DH, shall we? I thought Susan was hilarious this week with the whole Mike/Katherine situation. But the most funny character in this s/l was MJ...I LOVED his repeated line, "I guess." I loved when he threw the sundae at Katherine and he dropped the bowling ball on her foot. Excellent stuff! Also, Susan and Mike have terrific chemistry even when they're not together. I think and hope they'll get back together...pleeeeeeease, no more breakups between these two! It gets sooooooooo old!
Lynette...man, oh man, that family's in the craphole. I just felt so bad for Tom and Lynette, how helpless they must feel. And now that this Warren dude is on Porter's ass, it is so scary stuff. I laughed at Preston and Porter switching places. LOL, idiots!
Bree is so hilarious. I was all LOL when she invited Lee and Bob for dinner. Lee and Bob are hilarious as well. I loved those two whispering at each other all night and Bree getting all uncomfortable. So she forces it out of them that Andrew's fiancee (!) is in gay porn!!!!!! That's kinda freaky...but it turns out this guy ditched the porn game so it's all good. I loved that scene between Bree and Andrew...they have come a long way these past few seasons.
Carlos/Gabrielle=awesome! Those two totally belong together. Their first marriage was definitely shaky but the second time around is treating them very well. LOL Gabrielle totally would dance on a table for a baseball.
Gabrielle: Susan, Mike's into baseball, right? Maybe you could get him to track down this Lou Gehrig guy and we could have him sign another ball.
LOL, she makes me laugh. But in addition to the funny scenes, there were very touching scenes as well. Like Carlos hugging his girls after seeing them for the first time and when he bought that dress for Gabrielle after he saw all the scarifices she made for the family. Yeah, I love the Solises...and now Carlos has his sight back, so that is GREAT news!
OK...onto the drama. We have one more piece in the Dave puzzle...turns out he was married to that woman who died in the car accident. But to me this little development was kinda predictable...there's probably a lot more to the story than that. Do you suppose the only reason he married Edie was to go back to Fairview? OMG I am sooo hooked onto this mystery! I can't wait to find out what exactly is going on here.
Spoilers...
Next episode, "Home is the Place", January 4th...
Susan goes to a gay club with Lee. She think a shirtless man is flirting with her until he says he's gay. We hear Jackson, but don't see him. Apparently Susan and Lee have sex and don't remember it.
Warren thinks Preston is Porter, so Preston's in danger. Lynette takes drastic measures to protect the Scavo family.
Bree meets Andrew's soon-to-be-mother-in-law, Melinda (Joanna Cassidy). Melinda and Bree are total opposites (Bree's very conservative, Melinda's very liberal)...so I think we all know where this is going, LOL.
Gabrielle wants Carlos to get a job...he gets a job working with the blind, and for some reason this doesn't please Gabrielle.
Episode twelve, "Connect! Connect!", January 11...
Porter is staying with Lynette's mother, Stella. Stella has a heart attack.
Gabrielle has her roofer tell her girls to pick up their toys.
One of the housewives is set up with a produce guy.
Episode thirteen, "The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened", "January 18...
This will be the 100th episode of DH!
Beau Bridges plays a roofer named Eli, who is found dead on Susan's roof. The housewives all remember Eli, who was always there whenever someone had a roof problem. Turns out he had something to do with Mary Alice's suicide. In flashbacks we see Mary Alice, Rex, and Mrs. Huber.
There's a wealthy woman's event, and a short-tempered caterer (not Bree or Katherine), is planning for it.
A Latino comes to Wisteria Lane...he is the ex-husband of one of the housewives.
Episode fourteen...
We'll meet the principal of MJ's private school.
Tom has to sell his beloved sports car.
We meet Bree's book publisher.
Someone argues with a liquor distributor about an unpaid bill.
Miscellaneous spoilers...
Susan and Edie are locked in a basement together.
An old character is returning...it'll either be Felicia, Paul, Zach, or Betty.
Gabrielle's stepfather, who molested her as a teenager, is coming to Wisteria Lane. This would've happened last season but the strike kinda ruined that...so it'll happen this season.
OLTL Nash death was an accident no one pushed him, shoved him or other wise, JarHead as much as I dislike him didn't mean for him to be killed . Jared and Natalie are not murderers.
Bree Williamson is amazing this week.
I am not looking forward to another round of Tess the mess. The poor baby may not stand a chance.
GH Umm Robin needs to think of some other examples like people who wish they had known their fathers. .......AND Robin you yourself didn't know until you were about 7 ,that your mother was Anna ,now what if she had never told you and kept you refering to her as "Luv" something to think about.
I really don't like it when more than one character is pregnant on a soap ,it usually means a death and or switch is to come. GH Carly/Robin maybe it won't happen since Robin is farther along.
OLTL Jess Tess /Starr......... Please no.
AMC: Greenlee I was glad for her return but enough already, your a selfish fool .
Days: I Never thought I would say it, but poor Nicole,I feel for her.
Well, season 4 is over...Marc Cherry ended the season with a finale that was just FABULOUS!!!!!! From the minute I heard this would be a two-hour season finale, I just knew it would be amazing, and, to be honest, the episode was MUCH, MUCH better than I thought it would be!!!!!!
Susan's s/l was funny in the first hour of the finale. Her issue with Maynard...and I loved the scene when Lynette, Bree, and Gabrielle had that discussion about names. Funny stuff! But then the second hour it was sad...saying goodbye to Julie. Julie was a terrific character and she was a pleasure to have on the show. I loved when Susan and Julie had the touching, sad goodbye. It was a nice resolution to the character of Julie...that was definitely one of the most touching, emotional scenes in the history of television. And you know, I never cry when it comes to TV, but I actually came close. I'll miss Julie.
I don't know if it's possible to hate Kayla any more than I do. I was just sick when she burned herself with the hair curler. I just LOVED how everything blew up in her face at the end! HAHA! I don't know if Marc Cherry wanted us to feel sorry for Kayla when she was having that meltdown in the car, but I certainly didn't. She had a good thing going! Tough luck, sweetie! And I like Tom now...he has proven himself to be a good, loving husband. I loved his chat with Lee and Bob...he definitely showed his undying love for Lynette. They have been through so much these past couple years, and here they are, still together. That was another extremely touching scene. They have obstacles ahead of them for sure, but it's nice to know they will probably stay together through it all.
Bree's s/l was the only one in the season finale that I wasn't extremely thrilled with. It wasn't season finale material...it was just too stand-alone for a season finale. While the whole thing with her and the reverend, then Orson and the reverend having a big fight that the whole church overheard was funny, it just didn't live up to excpectations I have for season finales. But I LOVED her on the side of the road with the ice sculpture in the stroller. That was classic, LOL!
Gabrielle...what an exciting climax to this Ellie s/l! Some parts were funny, like her pretending to have an affair with the officer! HA!!!!!! The funniest part was Carlos yelling into the closet...DH can make humor out of the most serious things!
The shocking part of this s/l was Wayne killing Ellie...I didn't see that coming at all! So it looks like Carlos and Gabrielle probably get to keep that money after all!
Katherine...man, oh man! SHOCKER!!!!!! Definitely the best part of the finale! We know everything now! I'm totally blown away by that big hostage situation. Wayne is a total prick...he totally has issues! And I was not a big fan of that friend of Wayne's either! Poor Katherine. But all her troubles are over...Adam came to the rescue, and then Katherine killed Wayne! Bastard deserved it...the nerve he had telling Katherine he was gonna come back! Wayne was not meant for this world...hell sounds better for him
And the most amazing thing about this season finale I saved for last...the ending. The 5-year FF! It's so funny to see Gabrielle as a mother, Andrew all grown up and professional, and Tom and Lynette dealing with juvenile delinquents. But one question...WHERE THE HECK IS MIKE????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes-sir-ee, this season finale was amazing! The writers took my expectations and blew them out of the water! I praise Marc Cherry and his writing staff for such an amazing season finale and such an amazing season. Sure the season was cut short thanks to that damn strike, but I found this season to be very entertaining, juicy, and always left me excited for the next episode. Last night's season finale had an excellent wrap-up to each s/l (minus Bree's) and those last couple minutes when we moved forward 5 years...amazing! Kudos to Marc Cherry and the writers for such a wonderful season finale and an awesome season. I just can't believe it's over already!
I have no spoilers for you guys. When it's so long 'till the next episode, spoilers are scarce.
Showing 1 - 5. [ Next ]
