Burton @ soapcentral.com
2008 Emmy Nominations: My Way!!! All GH
Lead Actor: Tyler Christopher (Nicolas Cassadine)
Steve Burton (Jason Morgan)
Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos)
(All were spectacular this year... each with their respective storylines i.e.Emilys Death) Would love to see TC get this one!!!
Lead Actress: Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos Jax...)
(Her storylines are always so devestatingly long that alot of people wind up hating her character... but i have to say that i truly enjoyed watching her this year!)
Supporting Actor: Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli)
Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing)
(As always Hearst was quite entertaining but i think this year BA out-did himself. This is definatly the year of Spinelli!)
Supporting Actress: Caroline Henessy (Diane)
(FLOVE the character and watching Hennessy's acting. Give this woman an Emmy!)
Outstanding Young Actor: Josh Duhon (Logan Hayes)
Dylan Cash (Michael Corinthos III)
(Both were very good... however, i dont remember alot of Michael in 2007, but i could be wrong. Cash is a wonderful young actor, but in the contex of 2007... i guess i would have to say Duhon.)
Oustanding Young Actress: Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones)
(OK so i am definatly biased on this one... Storms was always and is still extremely talented and a entertainly to watch!!! Way to go Kirsten. This is her year!!!!
Well hope you enjoyed my lil' list. Reply and voice your opinions... WHO SHOULD WIN 2008?? And i am not talking about the presidental election... this is much more important!!!
Welcome back, gentle readers! :) It's good to have you here.
We all watch soaps here. It's something we all have in common or we wouldn't bother getting registered for these things. Likely we all have a favorite soap star (or several). I know *I* certainly do. I'm a Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst fan. I admit it. I like them together and I like them on their own as well. (And I'm not worried about who dislikes them, because it doesn't change my Op towards them one way or another.)
Ever thought it was impossible to approach a soap star without getting a dose of inflated ego or bad attitude tossed in your face?
I used to. I mean, come on, these are famous people I see every weekday, in that 20-something" box in my livingroom. They're beautiful people, most of them, and their job is to persuade me to be attentive to a story that they're trying to tell through their acting. Sometimes I find myself relating to parts of the stories, sometimes I just use it as an escape... Ever find yourself in a similar situation? I bet you have.
But who honestly thinks about actually making -friends- with these people? I mean, something beyond a one-time fan letter experience. Actual friends? With a soap star? -What?- Ideas like that are completely outside the box for some people. I feel bad for those people. They're missing out.
Well I've decided to re-design the box! Haha, so there! *shakes fist at conventionality*
Soap stars are people too. What person doesn't want to be praised when they work hard at their job, regardless of whom they're playing? Seriously!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I've decided that the cast of GH are my friends. (Not like some bunny-slipper wearing sleep-over-having bff, but as contemporaries I can admire for doing a job I wish I had the guts to pursue.)
See, when you treat someone like they're already your friend, they rapidly become exactly that. So!...What are we waiting for? :)
Any questions? Feel free to ask or respond.
Thank you for reading,
me.
p.s. I've recently sent my first fan mail to both Steve and Rebecca. We shall see what transpires.
I love blogs, but I'm terrible at them since I branch out so much and am always trying new ones. But hey, this might be a good place to put my General Hospital entries in! I love love love GH, and have been watching it since I was a preteen! Actually, I've been catching scenes and glimpses of it since I was ten, when I wasn't running outside to play! The first storyline I saw almost completely through and remember the clearest was Jason's memory loss; he reminded me of a videogame character so much that I was intrigued, and irony of ironies! Steve Burton now voices the exact same character he reminded me of back then! Cloud Strife! Yay! Here is a report of the premiere with a (sort of weird) picture of SB: http://www.siliconera.com/2006/04/04/final-fantasy-vii-advent-children-us-premiere/
And here Cloud Strife! Doesn't he look like SB, though???

The correlation between Jason and Cloud drew me into GH completely, and I have been watching more often than not since then. Yes, I have witnessed all four (five?) Carly actresses, have watched all the mob wars, the descent of the Quartermeines, and all the other cool stuff happening since then! I love the show! There have been times when it has pissed me off (AJ's death was probably the lowest point for me), but all in all it's a great show that's much different than everything else on daytime. I used to catch One Life and AMC, but have stopped completely a few years ago....they just started boring me to tears. So, GH for me!
Right now, I'm enjoying Sebastian Roche's portrayal of Mr. James Brosnan/Craig (lol) more than anything, and can't wait until he starts seducing Alexis. As for Jason, I still like him, but I wish he would claim his baby! I think it's a little out of character for him to give it up just for Elizabeth's sake, and Steve Burton recently explained it best here: http://soapoperadigest.com/features/gh/interviews/burtonjasondaddydilemma/
Well, I'm going out shopping for Easter with my dad and brother right now, so I better cut this post a tad short! Wow, I really am obsessed with GH, aren't I??? That was a longer post than I planned! More on my favorite soap later, I'm sure! I'll be back
Schwarzenegger style!
