I really do enjoy the mob story line on GH, BUT.....as many of you have written in posts on the board, what has become of General Hospital and our beloved characters? Where are the s/ls that surround the hospital? The s/ls have moved away from the 'hospital theme' unfortunately. Those of us that have 'grown up' with GH can identify with what I am talking about. If it were not for Robin, and Patrick's s/l while on duty, there wouldn't be anything much happening at the hospital. Times change, I realize, and whatever makes the ratings, soar, works, but it's sad to see the hospital sets and s/ls used less and less. To me instead of Night Shift, 'General Hospital' should have resumed their namesake 'hospital' ties to the fans, and the 'Mob Stories' have it's own soap, yet tied to Port Charles. In fact it would have made more sense if Port Charles had evolved into the mob story, rather than it's demise, and let General Hospital, remain just that, a soap that centers around GH. Again, I say, I love the mob stories, but think to make it fair for all fans, it should have it's own soap. It would satisfy many fans that have become disillusioned with GH forgetting the hospital and those characters within that hospital. If you remember, with the Port Charles soap, and GH, from time to time, characters would appear on both. Isn't this workable? I've seen many changes, and perhaps it is time for a spin off of the Port Charles mob, for those of us that enjoy it. GH has become mostly about the mob, and I do understand some fans are not enjoying this type of s/l. Not everyone shares the same interest in the GH storylines, which you can read everyday in the posts. I doubt if anything changes, but in my opinion, I think the Port Charles mob s/l would have a good chance of survial with it's own soap. Give GH fans the opportunity to see the hosptial scenes, AND some of the veteran actors that GH concept was about originally. Then give the Sonny/Jason mob stories their own soap to appease all of us that like them. For me, I would be watching both, but understand those that detest the content of the mob s/ls.
I've been a loyal fan of GH for over 30 years, and will continue no matter what the story lines are, but think in all fairness, dividing the soap into two, would be a good idea. JMO ..........Have a gr8 day fellow soap fans...soapfan4ever :)
