I can't help but think of past couples when I think of summer time on soaps. This is when I become nostalgic. Thinking about the first couple I liked on soaps. The first teen/young couple. How they fell in love. The journey. The romance. The songs and fanfiction that suit them well. Oh how I miss those days of sweet innocence with holding hands and flirting. Couples with actors that have such nice chemistry and ease.

A few of them have that today, but there is a lot of forced couple-ship going on. We all know sometimes it can't be avoided (like when a recast comes) but sometimes they are just beating a dead horse. Or sometimes they are trying to re-capture what the two actors once had.

We might not all agree what couple have chemistry but for the most part there is a majority and writers should try to represent them. From there great writing and pacing of time you can win over most of the people. You have to have a song in your heart. Something smooth and jazzy, maybe even loud. When you look at them you should think of a love song about to unravel. After all writing is a art-form, just as poetry and song writing. That is why I dedicate this week of my first blog to people who participate in the art of love, and art. I will have various pictures of couples that I thought represented what daytime should have in their love story. Whether it be a singer, a personal favorite couple of mines or an example of romance gone wrong. They will be my personal take on the art of romance. After all we watch soap operas but we do campaigns for who we want to be together...or for those we long for.


This first banner is of Christina Aguilera. Not only is she one of my favorite singers but she has the ability to make a song romantic and strong just with her voice. This is why I picked her for my first choice. Even when you are not familiar with a couple on television you are suppose to see their strength and the romance and love they share. By the way they look at each other, talk to one another, how protective they are. You know they should be together...even if it isn't forever. Forever is for the blessed few. But you can still appreciate what you had with that person and always know that they have a piece of your heart.

I finally decided to start a blog! But the bad news is, the period on my keyboard decided to break! So after every sentence you will see an exclamation point! Just to point out, I'm a horrible speller! So, please don't harass me and tell me I need to go back to first grade! You will find a lot of mistakes on my blog! I'm from the south, so expect some ya'll and stories about crawfish boils and mardi gras, and yeah, hurricane Katrina! Yes, I'm from New Orleans and I'm proud! I'm not going to complain about the government or the crime or the fact that I lost everything! I just want to make this statement, don't believe everything the media says! Anyway, since this is soapcentral, I should write about soaps!

I have to admit, I haven't watched my soaps this week! I've just been busy with school and work and I'm to tired to stay up for soapnet, and I actually don't own a dvr or a tivo and spoilers just don't do it for me, I have to WATCH it to like it and understand whats going on! You can tell on my profile that I LOVE Days of our Lives! Yep, that soap on NBC! For better or for worse right? I can't really comment on any of the storylines because I'm a lil behind but I will say, I hope Sami finally gets married! I will be really happy if it doesn't get interrupted by her sister, or Kate, or EJ, or Marlena etc etc! On to my other soap, which I think is getting pretty boring, General Hospital! Well, well, well  I don't know where to start! I haven't watched yet but if its anything like the last couple of weeks then I didn't miss much! All of this Jason and Liz secerts/wants to tell the truth crap! Now I'm a HUGE Liason fan from back in the day, but please either move on or shut up! Everyone is getting on my nerves, Lulu, Carly, Sonny, Robin, that new Logan kid, Can I say, that I actually like Maxie, I thought I would never say those words! Anyway, Sam is a whole new world! Haven't liked her from day one, and despise her more and more everyday! She just needs to leave already!

 Well, Greys Anatomy is a repeat this week :( I love that show soo much! Christina and Burke all of the way! In fact, I miss the show so much, I might go watch season one right now on dvd! Well, I hope this blog thing works out for me, and I hope I don't offend or do anything that you wouldnt approve of and please excuse my grammar and spelling! ----Ally
