Christmas @ soapcentral.com
I guess I'll update my blog for all of you who don't read it anyway, which is pretty much....everyone.
First of all to anyone who does come by...Merry Christmas!
I truly hope you all have good jobs that you love, to go to tomorrow and warm homes to sleep in tonight. I hope your holidays will be healthy, warm, safe, affordable!, stress-free, and find you surrounded by loved ones!
In my last blog I talked about how my husband had been laid-off from his job. We were blessed and he was out of work for less than a week. He went to work for a much smaller company, hoping they will be kinder and more appreciative. So far, so good. He is now working days, he has worked nights for 12 years, so it is weird. Good weird though. However, I never minded nights since I'm a bit of a night person.
We are all prepared for Christmas. We have been getting quite a bit of snow the last week. I like a white Christmas and am lucky that I don't have to drive in it every day.
Well, that kind of sums up what's been going on here. Not too exciting but I have learned over the years that boring-ish is good. Excitement usually means drama--never good.
Happy Holidays!!!
Well, it's a few weeks after Christmas now which means the days are getting longer every day! I always like it when the days get longer 'cause I never really liked the short days. Right now as I'm typing this it is 8:30 and it is dark but in the summertime it would be pretty light.
Hey does anyone else still have to take their Christmas decorations down? It is a few weeks after Christmas and we still have our tree and lights up! Even our cats have lost interest, as they never go under the tree anymore. I hope they're taken down soon 'cause there comes a point where Christmas gets a little tiring.
This is my last week of the first semester. On Friday the semester ends and then we have a four-day weekend (we have Monday off for MLK day and we have Tuesday off 'cause it's a staff development day), and then on Wednesday the second semester begins and we will be halfway through the schoolyear. Unbelievable, huh? It seems like just five minutes ago when I logged onto soapcentral and blogged about the first day of school and now we're halfway through! Holy crap! My grandfather always said that the older you get, the faster time goes by. Nana always says that life is like toilet paper; when you get closer to the end, it goes faster. Very creative analogy!
I have a couple spoilers for you DH fans: when the housewives make their comeback, Bree gets a job. I don't know what she'll be doing, but I do know that her boundaries will be pushed a bit. Also, Katherine's ex-husband will appear. I'm hearing that Ray Liotta is being considered for the role. And even though Adam left Katherine, we still haven't seen the last of him yet. Here is a hiatus schedule for the next few weeks...
Friday, January 18--"Smiles of a Summer Night"--Lynette kicks Tom out of her chemotherapy treatments, Susan goes to that birthday party to pick up Julie and a few drunk teenage boys mistake her for a stripper, and Bree sneaks into Katherine's house to steal a recipe.
Friday, January 25--"The Game"--Susan throws a charades party at her house, Stella makes some pot-laced brownies for Lynette, and Bree tells the other housewives what she overheard in Katherine's house.
Friday, February 1--"If There's Anything I Can't Stand"--Edie finds out she has crabs, Rex's mother Phyllis shows up at Bree's baby shower and finds out she's faking her pregnancy, and Lee and Bob move onto Wisteria Lane.
February 3--preempted by "Meet the Fockers"
So how was everyone's Christmas? Mine was wonderful. I got a lot of great presents. I got a Maxine calendar for 2008. For those who may not know, Maxine is a cartoon character that has a comic strip -- she has one of those comics where it's just one square and she says hilarious, blunt things, such as "Why don't you slip into something more comfortable, like a coma?" and "Would you like some cheese with that whine?" Oh, and there's one where she's sitting by the computer and she says, "I keep hitting the escape button and I'm still here!" LOL! I also got a walky talky, a new iPod, the movie Little Miss Sunshine on DVD, the movie Evan Almighty on DVD, and season 3 of Desperate Housewives on DVD. And I also got a book called "Coke or Pepsi" which is a book with all kinds of surveys. Given that it's been a while since I've posted a survey on my blog, I'll post one right now from the book. Feel free to post this on your blog too.

Well, I only have tomorrow and Thursday left of school and I'm out for Christmas break! I'm looking forward to having a break for almost two weeks!!!!!!
Oh, on Sunday Papa and Frannie came up here to watch football. It was the Green Bay Packers against the St. Louis Rams. Another Packers victory! YEAH!!!!!! BTW, Frannie is doing much better now. She is no longer sick or throwing up blood. The doctors don't think it's an ulcer now...what they think it is is too much advil consumption. Both Papa and Frannie take advil every night before going to bed. They say it helps them sleep better. I really think it's kind of dumb to do that, 'cause you know, you can OD. I think Frannie probably just OD'd a bit.
Oh, here's a video I thought you guys would find amusing. It's Will Ferrell impersonating Harry Caray. HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
