Ahhh, can you smell the roses?  They smell reeeeally good! Smiley

I've been reading a lot lately, I just finished Simple Genius by David Baldacci.  I really like David Baldacci's books.  Now I am reading a book by Ann Rule and another one by Jeffrey A. Wands, different subjects but interesting.

I recently had to get a crown on one of my teeth.  It didn't thrill me!  Even with dental insurance they are not cheap and I prefer my own teeth, thank you. Smiley  It had a cracked filling in it that the dentist said couldn't be re-filled.  I haven't needed any dental work for years, I am nearly crazy fanatical in taking care of my teeth--I hate dental work!

We've been doing some small landscaping projects around here.  It dawned on me that we've lived here almost 10 years and there are a lot of things that I kept thinking we would get to that we haven't.  When you move onto on an acre of weeds and alfalfa (and you're not rich!) it takes a while to get to everything.  Since we built the house we've poured concrete, also put in some asphalt, planted lawn, trees, put in flower beds, my husband fenced the whole peoperty and built a decent sized shed/sm. garage, he just put a small retaining wall up.  Last weekend I bought a bunch of flowers, petunias etc., and got all those planted.  The weather here hasn't been all that great, we had a really nice week a couple weeks ago but when it's windy and cloudy it's not as much fun to be out puttering.

We've been taking Skittles to dog obedience classes, he is doing pretty good.  He's calmed down quite a bit since we got him, we call him "The Brown Fury" as a joke because he's so busy.

We are getting a new DVR on Saturday. We have two right now that are a few years old and I have to fight them all the time.  They are always doing things that they are not supposed to be doing and not doing the things that they are supposed to be doing!  The new one is one receiver that controls two TV's, I am hoping it will be problem free (or mostly problem free anyway!)

Love/Hate relationship with my DVR!

Hellooooo again,

Here's a question (again!).  Does anyone other than me have a LOVE/HATE relationship with their DVR?!!  When ours is working correctly it is one of the coolest things I own (sad, but true!) Smiley but that seems to only be about 2/3 of the time!!!  The rest of the time that POS (Piece Of S***!) makes me want to rip it out of the wall, violently launch it into the front yard--cords a flyin', and finish it off with a mighty sledge hammer blow!!! Smiley  It's supposed to hold 60 hours of programming, NOT!  Not that I want it to hold that much but if it gets anywhere near 30 hours (not too difficult to do if I get a few movies on there) then when I watch it, the picture keeps jumping forward.  Kind of annoying!  If I flip channels, it locks up and won't do anything so, no channel surfing!  Luckily it has the handy "browse" feature so I can browse without actually surfing.  Sometimes, for no reason that I can fathom, it will begin recording a show and get about 1/2 way through and just stop on it's own.  That's always nice.  Then ocassionally I program it to tape something and it just doesn't.  I think our DVR has a mind of it's own!  I know it sounds like "DVR driver-error" (meaning MY fault) but we have had it for a few years and I do actually understand how to use it and it has always been quirky.  Usually a couple times a week I have to take out the "smart card" (How smart is it really?!) to re-set the machine.  Luckily for me that always works.  In theory, the DVR is a GREAT, handy little invention.  In reality, you'd think the brainiacs that invented it could have ironed out a few more of the kinks so my blood pressure would quit spiking!
