In my first full video blog, I've decided that this was the perfect time to talk about Guiding Light's new production model. For those of you not in the know, here is a link to an article that talks about the changes. I also urge you to check your local listings to find out when the CBS soap airs in your area so that you can get a first-hand account of exactly what is going on.

 

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my first video blog entry. This is truly a work in progress, so it will take some time for me to get the product to the way that I want. This was also done strictly as a stream of consciousness thing... I had no script. I probably should have, but it was just a test to see what I could do on the fly. I'll get better... but until then, here I am :-)

 

Oh wow, so many characters I miss!  Bridgett, Mindy, Nick, Hamp, David, Hart (poor Hart... he was a little shit in this storyline, but he turned out to be a fairly nice guy by the time Dinah offed him), Nadine (oh how I miss Nadine) Kat, HB, and so many others I haven't seen in years.  Many thanks to ClassicGL and their wonderful collection of GL storylines. 

This new storyline involving Reva, Jonathan, Sarah and Lizzie has me nervous.  I'm so afraid that my hopes will be shattered and we'll see nothing but the back of some stand-in's head instead of Tom Pelphrey as Jonathan.  I just don't know, I'm so afraid I'm going to end up disappointed.  I know there have been rumors that he's coming back for a short stay.  I want Tom Pelphrey to come back for a LONG stay.  Yes, it's selfish of me.  He's a talented young actor and has a bright future ahead of him outside of the soap world, but Guiding Light needs him, in my humble opinion. 

I would love to see storylines involving Jonathan and Dylan getting to know each other and bonding as brothers.  I could see Dylan joining Jon in his battle against Alan to protect Sarah.  I think they would make a great brother team.  They've both been through being given up for adoption and coming to terms with that.  They both have daughters.  There's so much the two could bond over.  We've seen so much sibling rivalry storylines with the Spaudings; Phillip vs Alan-Michael, Phillp vs Gus, Alan-Michael vs Gus, it would be so refreshing to see a set of brothers who really get along.  Plus, I'd just like to see Dylan do something other than being a prop for Harley and Daisy.  :D

Well, I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed, wait and see.

Tell her what you think. One poster said that she really got the hotline girl's attention when she informed her that she planned on BOYCOTTING all products that sponsor GL. We may want to add this to our comments. Maybe someone will take us seriously. I called the number, a nice girl named Katie answered. She let me rant and rave and I was respectful. then she said, "I'll pass that message along." I'm not sure if she does or if she has a little paper there with checkboxes eside what we are calling about or what, but it sure felt good as hell to vent. Then it felt really bad because you hang up and realize that the call may not have done any good. But if we all call at the same time, that will do some good. So let's all call, every day that we see Josh and cassie together on the screen.
