So on today's GH we found out, after all that rigamarole, that Carly is not pregnant. Which, um, is good news, I guess, because that means that a) there's no chance it could be Sonny's, and b) we won't have to sit through Carlybabes pawning off another baby as Jason's, since it turned out so well the first time. This ending, however, left me with a severe feeling of WTF. Why would Guza and his minions put us through all that torture only for her to end up without a bun in the oven?

 

I had a strong feeling of WTF to begin with, when I first read about this new and original *insert eyeroll* storyline in Soap Opera Digest. I was beyond pissed off that they were going to copy the 1998 story. IMO, it totally erases any emotional growth Carly might have had after Michael's shooting, even more than the disastrous limo sex. Laura Wright is easily one of the best actresses in daytime, and I feel like every time they give her this same old crap, they're severely underusing her and limiting the potential she has to make Carly more than just a slutty, annoying, dumb bimbo. (And I don't say those negative words lightly, cuz I love me some Carly.)

 

I think one of the biggest things that pissed me off were the quotes from Bob Guza in SOD.

 

"A flummoxed Carly spontaneously spins the lie that she is pregnant, it's Jason who is the father. 'This is where it gets a little comedic,' grins Guza."

 

Comedic? After the gruesome deaths of Georgie and Emily, Michael's coma, and the loss of poor little baby Carjax, I always suspected that Guza found GH viewers' suffering comedic. How is this man still head writer? Grrrr.

 

Also?

 

"'This was not a coincidence,' explains Guza regarding this particular plot point. 'This was deliberate. It was an interesting excercise to see how the character has changed since then...'"

 

The hell? One, it's not interesting. And two, she hasn't changed at all since then, apparently, SINCE YOU ARE WRITING THE SAME FRICKING THING. *steam coming out of ears*

 

And now thanks to Sonny's big mouth Jax is suspicious that Carly slept with Sonny. If I were writing General Hospital, I would use this as an opportunity for Carly to tell Jax that she did, indeed, have dirty nasty unprotected limo sex with Sonny. I'm sure Jax would be pissed, and probably want to leave, but then they could talk it out (Couples therapy? Too bad Lainey's been taken off contract...) and eventually make the decision to stay together. I believe that they truly love each other, and while Carly's certainly flawed, Jax is no saint either. But of course I am not writing GH and I foresee Carly lying to him some more, followed by Carly and Jax breaking up and Carly and Sonny getting back together for the umpteenth time. Sickening.

 

As for the rest of today's episode... Jerry took my beautiful Johnny hostage, and when Johnny turned the tables and attacked that sick fuck I was really hoping that would be the end of Mr. Craig but, alas, no such luck. There was like thirty seconds of adorable Lucky & Sam interaction, and maybe, maybe, just possibly Robin might be going to come around to letting Patrick near her precious child, which is good, because she's been driving me crazy lately with the hypocrisy.

 

We had more of that obnoxious Dr. Matt Hunter, and so far I don't see what the big deal is. I know the actor was supposed to be part of some fabulous supercouple with Kirsten Storms on Days of Our Lives, but I just don't see the chemistry yet. He's just a boring Dr. Patrick Drake 2.0. Give me Spixie any day. I'm serious. Please, please give me Spixie. (Damn you, Guza, damn you.)

 

P.S.- Loved Jason today, and his "Next time leave me out of the tangled web that you weave, Carly." So true. Brought back some memories, though, as my dad used the tangled web quote a lot on me when I was in high school...

 General Hospital The Memeorial Day repeat The biginning of the Metro Court hostage crisis-depressing it reminds me of how good this show used to be just a few months ago. Now I'm just annoyed by most every character on GH it's hard to watch, and yes I am a bitter Liason Liz/Jason fan, and understand that I love GH and am not one of those people who will threaten to stop watching, cause that will never happen. I just want a great show. Now all I think is-Why is Sonny such an Ass? Why can't Liz and Jason get their act together? Why are TPTB dragging everything on and on? Where's the excitement and love in the afternoon? Isn't it a little late for Carly to be mother of the year? Give me something please! Race Weekend! Let me start with the Indy500- Scott Dixon won! Does anyone care? well I don't, but I did watch the race cause I was rooting for Marco Andretti. Now getting to who else yes ofcourse Danica Patrick, I guess as a female I'm supposed to be a fan of hers, but I'm not and her actions at Indy re-enforced why I am NOT a fan of hers. Her attitude is a little much for me, I saw last year when she got in Dan Wheldon's face--wich made her look like an idiot, really, she knows that she can go get in his face, but if he even looked at her the wrong way everyone would have had a fit-cause he's a man and she's a GIRL. I think she should be able to be angry, but you need to know when to say when, and at Indy when she was walking over to that guys pit like she was going to beat him up, and causing a scene was completely rediculous-she just made herself look like a child throwing a hissy fit, wich she's done before. So to Danica I say: CHECK YOURSELF! You can race like one of the boys, but remember your not one-beat them on the track, and be a classy chick. NASCAR-- Let's start with the Nationwide series, Kyle Busch wins Ugghhh! My nightmare continues. Denny Hamlin must be hanging out too much with his Sprint Cup teammate Kyle Busch, since Denny thinks no one can race him, then he nearly takes out Brad Kesolowski under caution no less. Then DaleJr. who owns Brad's car goes up and bumps Denny and lets him know he's not happy with him. Then a scuffle breaks out between Kesolowski and Hamlins pit crews(that was funny). After the race Denny Hamlin said Brad did'nt have enough experience racing Sprint cup guys and needs to show respect, then he said " if your ginna throw a rock, I'll throw a concrete block" What a joke! can someone tell Denny It was'nt a Sprint Cup Race it was a Nationwide race, and Brad is a racer-JUST RACE STUPID A$$! Sprint Cup-- Charlotte NC. 600 miles, and a very weird race. Kasey Kahne wins, And the fans are happy, He has alot of fans, I know girls were screaming like a boy band just won, I know people think he's cute, including Michael Waltrip who says Kasey Kahne is the most beautiful man he's ever seen-LOL-but he's a year older then me and I think he looks like he's 12, and a little bit gargoyle for me, but as long as KyleBusch did'nt win I'm good. Ofcourse I would have been better if DaleJr. would have won, but he finished 5th after having the best car, and then putting it into the wall a few times, I did'nt think he would even be able to finish-dumb J.JYaley running in the back of him. Was he asleep at the wheel? Just when I thought I was'nt going to have to think about Kyle Busch being a total jacka$$, I hear about him getting in JeffGordons face, saying he should 've moved out of his way, then giving Jeff the finger/ Jeff said he does'nt know what Kyles problem is, "I guess Kyle just does'nt like people to race him" I'm no fan of Gordons but someone needs to knock Kyle out. Many drivers who were leading the race, had problems. BrianVickers, DaleJr. KyleBusch, then poor Tony Stewart who was only a couple laps away from his first win of the season has a tire go down-Bummer. Now Jr. haters are saying he got special treatment, cause they penalized him then they rescinded the penalty, they clearly stated that they looked at the tape and saw that Jr. did'nt put any safety workers in jeapordy and that's what the penalty was for-, not speeding down pit road. The penalty for speeding down pit road is starting at the end of the longest line, and he did start at the end of the longest line, it just happened that he concerved fuel and finished 5th when he did'nt have to pit and others did, why is that so hard to understand? Anyway- I like what Kenny Wallace said when speaking about the whole Nationwide incident with BradKesolowski and DennyHamlin He said Denny told Brad " I'm big Time we dont race that way- Kenny yells STOP COMPLAINING AND RACE! Now on to Dover Del. Peace&Love

According to Wikipedia's page for the General Hospital cast, Logan is leaving in June! I take everything on Wiki with a grain of salt (sometimes two), but they've been accurate for a while that I've seen. A waste of a character and storyline, I say. Where did Scott go? Why did they never bring Sabrina to town? Get Logan a real love interest other than Lulu? Are they just going to randomly send him off, kill him, make him another killer??? Okay, I sincerely doubt they would do the last one, since GH weathered its share of killers already, and it was a bit much even for me.We'll have to see if Logan departs or not, but I could definitely understand if the actor is frustrated and wants out: he's being going nowhere fast for a long time now. I do prefer Johnny, but I did think there was room for both guys in Port Chuck. Ah well, Cooper was killed off, too, and I hated that . . . Yet Spinelli, he of little manly prowess, goes on *eyebrow twitches* I will try not to hate on him, I just hate having a guy with no romantic potential taking up space, you know? It's a soap opera!

On a different note, I like Claudia and Nikolas! They're weirdly perfect, both broken and the spawn of insanity, both dark and brooding, a bit spoiled . . . The Russian Prince and the Mafia Princess! I should make a banner! What to call them? ClauNik? ClawsNik? If it were the holidays, NikClaus would be pretty funny :p I suck at naming couples, for reals . . .

Jason burning down Crimson Point (never so aptly named) was hilarious. I seriously had to LOL at how he stood there, just with that serious (Sephiroth) face, and then just hung around talking to Anthony. What nerve! I love it! I bet it won't go well, though. Jason never manages to go very long being the mob boss, does he? Ah, well, at least he didn't the mob to run a garage again! That was so silly. Not as silly as chasing around the monkey, but close . . . Yeah, close . . .

Sam is back, looking hot as usual, and . . . going to the range? That's her hobby? Wow, hardcore woman! Like Tomb Raider!

. . . I hate on Spinelli, then mention videogames as much or more than he does. Ha ha ha. At least I'm not on a soap opera! Spinelli isn't my problem necessarily, it's the way they write him to 1.) make such a HUGE deal about getting it on (come on, even the most introverted introvert can, I hope, manage to find their *ahem* way), and 2.) has the character not developing at all in any way other than expressing desire to be "manly" (his idea of what "manly" is, anyway) and never making good on his desires with action! Like I said, it's been like a year! Dude, from one loser to another, get with it! Slapstick will only take you thus far!

It's late an' I'm beat. I am around and watching GH, though. Haven't kicked the bucket yet ;-)

I thought this was a great time to rant and rave about my favorite and sometimes not-ready -for daytime favorite soap, General Hospital.

 

Sad day for Liason fans, no scenes and a slam from Sonny regarding Elizabeth which was really unfair to her and certainly to Jason, his so-called friend.

 

I saw a glimer of hope with two scenes; (1) Diane and Max, (2nd) Spinelli and Maxi.  Announcement everyone -  A little sexy humor and flirtation never hurt anyone.  Add Spinelli's slap stick comedy and it's sure to generate a smile. 

 

Always great to see  stong, vibrant Anna.  I wanted to be like her when I was growing up.  Go Girl!

 

Robin showed some maturity today when talking with Patrick instead of her usual preaching style with a dose of nagging.  Great scene between the two regarding the pregnancy.  Loved she talked about no preconcieved parent roles.  Robin needs to stop being so controlling and have some fun.  Which is why Patrick compliments her, when she lets it happen it makes me really want to root for them as a couple.

 

Ugh! How many more scenes of Sonny/Carly/Jason do they have filmed?  Please stop!  I am so over them and their anger, hate and violence.  I like Jason when he is with Elizabaeth and she brings out the light in his soul.  A "Mobster with a soul",  like Angel in Buffy, The Vampire series was similarly cursed. But, Jason can make different choices, it is his loss if he doesn't do something, soon.

 

Mob 101 - Gather all the dirt on those in business around you.  Hide in safe place and threaten exposure if anything happens to you or your family.  Simple! Try it and see what happens. 

 

Claudia and Nicholas - This could be fun!  He could help her to bring down Anthony.  Plus, GH can be on the forefront for equal right opportunites for female mob boss leaders. 

 

I want to see Sam with Lucky and then he realizes she was his rebound lay and he starts to show interest in Nadine.  She would make a great floor mat for Lucky and that is what he needs.  He is one of the great Spencers so all bow, right?  Then Nicholas will start wanting what he can't have.  Interesting!

 

Message to Liz - Keep standing, working and trying.  Hopefully, some day you can be appreciated in a  mature, loving, equal and sexy relationship.  For the past 10 years, I was hoping Jason would be the one to finally make that a reality.  But, I am begining to question whether he deserves Elizabeth, Jake or Cam.

 

Hardest Working Award - Elizabeth and Maxi.  Elizabeth works at the hospital, mother, and does laundry.  That's more than any of the other characters are doing.  Maxi is driven and working hard at Crimson.  Wow! Did I just lump them together?  Next, they will be sharing girl talk about "Why good women pick such bad men".

 

Did I mention the above were soap characters and situations?  Yes. Well, enjoy them because they mirror too closely real life at times. You might just see a little of yourself in one of the characters and you can consider this your wake-up call.
