Sick @ soapcentral.com
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was good. On Saturday we went down to Downtown Minneapolis to see the Holidazzle Parade. It's about a half-hour long and it is fun...only it was very cold. About five degrees or so. Brrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yesterday we went down to Eagan (suburb of St. Paul) to my grandparents' house, or as we call them, Nana & Papa. We went down there to watch a football game. It was the Green Bay Packer's againt the Oakland Raiders playing at Lambeau Field. It was a Packer's victory, like it should be
My aunt Kelly was also visiting. She lives in Austin, Texas. It was fun to see her again 'cause ever since she left Minnesota we haven't been seeing much of her. My great-aunt Frannie was there too. She lives just a few minutes away from Nana & Papa in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville, so everytime we see Nana & Papa we see her too which is great 'cause Frannie's a lot of fun. However, she got sick yesterday and she threw up in the bathroom and blood came out. We were getting worried about her so we insisted that she went to the ER. So Nana took her to the ER and after rotting in the waiting room (hospitals are hell on Sundays), they sent Frannie home with some medications. They're doing some tests on her tomorrow. They said that the most likely expanation is an ulcer. Yuck! So other than that, we had fun yesterday.
Today started out pretty sad. The principal of my high school went over the PA and announced the death of Travis, a senior at my school. He died on Friday night in a car accident. What happened was he was driving on black ice, lost control, crashed into the tree, and broke his neck. I didn't know Travis, but that doesn't make it any less sad. I can only imagine the pain his family must be in now. And just before Christmas too
OK, enough depressing stuff. Let's be happy that Christmas is just 15 days! My last day before break is a week from Thursday. Can't wait! What's on your wish list? I know I want season 3 of Desperate Housewives on DVD. That's on the top of my list!
Here is a video I found amusing. It's a MadTV parody of Desperate Housewives. I think you non-DH fans will enjoy it too.

Happy Monday everyone (sarcastic hooray)! LOL actually I don't really mind Mondays because the weeks always go by quickly anyway. Today didn't go by so fast though because I have a cold. I caught it from either my brother, my sister, or someone in my class, because there have been colds in all 3 places. Sore throat and runny nose...uggh, I hate being sick!
So here's what's new with us. On Thursday my parents are getting new cars. They will be escalades, and the colors will be black and white (same colors as our cats
). And next week we have Thursday and Friday off from school for something called MEA (Minnesota Educators Association) where teachers in Minnesota meet in St. Paul for a conventional meeting. So that's means us students are off the hook. So what we're gonna do is go to Frankenmuth, Michigan, a little town about 20 minutes from Saginaw. It is a very nice town. It's a German town and it's a lot like Germany. And there's a restaurant there with the best chicken dinner I've ever had. Another restaurant has great pizza. Also, you've probably heard of the year-round Christmas store, Bronner's. Well, that's in Frankenmuth and we'll be going there. We'll probably go mini-golfing and swimming too. We'll be leaving on Wednesday night and we'll spend the night in Madison, then we'll probably have lunch someplace in Chicago, then we'll go to Frankenmuth. Then on Saturday we're leaving Frankenmuth and we'll spend the night in Milwaukee. We're having dinner in Milwaukee at that same place we went last summer during our Air Show trip, Joey Buona's Pizzeria. Very good pizza! And then we'll come home on Sunday.
OK, now for the ladies of Wisteria Lane. I watched episode 2 today and season 4 continues to impress me. Susan was very funny at that birthday party. "If that's just some lame attempt to keep me from telling your parents...it worked, well played." LOL! And then when she was walking toward Julie she tripped, then she drunk her drink and said, "If this party isn't out of control, then why are you drinking...orange soda?" Susan and Mike are a great couple, but if they went on like this forever, I would not be happy. I want something to happen that will spice up this marriage, but not destroy it. One example of how to ruin this storyline: have Ian turn out to be the baby-daddy. Uggh, if he came back I would NOT be happy!
My favorite s/l this episode was Lynette's. Seeing the women together at the "chemo party" was very nice and the scene between Lynette and Gabrielle almost had me crying. But there was some humor in last night too. The Tom/Lynette thing was funny. Lynette is hilarious the way she handles Tom. And I liked the way she told the other housewives about it. "It was like the last 20 minutes of Brian's Song!"
My next-favorite s/l was the Bree/Katherine war. I am lovin' this Katherine character so far. LMAO when Bree and Katherine were faking pleasant attitudes, smiling. Nothing funnier than two Brees getting into it! I love how the housewives handle their enemies. It is gonna be a lot of fun watching these two battle over "best homemaker reputation" as the season progresses, and I think Orson should be a part of this war too. Orson fighting with Katherine would be funny too!
I am very confused about this mystery. WTF is going on with Dylan, her father, and Katherine??? And what about that room? Maybe Dylan's father raped her and later Dylan blocked out that memory and all the other memories of Wisteria Lane? But that expanation would be too simple. Other puzzle pieces will come up. I think we're too early in the season to make any close guesses anyway.
Hip-hip, Carlos-and-Gabrielle! I like Edie, I really do, but what she's doing to Carlos is making me like her a little less. I'm not really thrilled with the way this s/l is going. It's just kinda pissing me off. Edie's bs can get really tiring. And I've had enough of Victor too. Get those losers out of the way so we can have our long-awaited Solis reunion!
Spoilers...
Next week, "The Game"...
Susan and Mike throw a charades party. The guests include Adam and Katherine; Tom and Lynette; Orson and Bree; Victor and Gabrielle; and Carlos and Edie. Edie announces her and Carlos's engagement. Gabrielle accidentally spills a drink on Adam's lap. When she helps him get cleaned off, Katherine tells her to "stop touching her husband". This leads to a catfight!
The man Carlos hired last night appears. It turns out that Carlos has hired him to move that money. Not only does he want that money moved to keep Edie from using it against him, he also doesn't want Gabrielle to find out about it because he was hiding that money from her while their divorce was in progress.
Episode Four, "If There's Anything I Can't Stand" (October 21)...
Bree tries to talk the other housewives out of throwing her a baby shower, but they do anyway. Rex's mother, Phyllis, shows up at the shower thanks to Andrew. She finds out that Bree's faking a pregnancy.
Episode Eight...
Tom has dinner with a woman named Sylvia. Lynette doesn't know they're there. Tom kisses Sylvia, and Sylvia thinks he's coming onto her, when really he only kissed her to make her feel better. Sylvia keeps flirting with him, much to his discomfort. She ends up going back to her hotel, alone.
Episode Nine...
A woman arrives on Wisteria Lane to stalk one of the husbands.
Someone dies.
A tornado's on the way! A 10-year-old takes advantage of the storm by selling Edie bottled water. Edie learns that Carlos and Gabrielle are packing to move.
I thought I would post my first blog. Not really sure what the point of this one is, but will update more in a couple days. Look forward to new friends.
Dilu4ever!
So, I have an ear infection and feel like absolute crap! Of Course, it is a weekend which means no GH or AMC. Of course, I could watch them on Soapnet but I saw them all this week already. I really liked the comments that were made to Ric about if he was going to call someone he has not slept with. Ric is obsessed. Personally, I think that he should not have been the one to prosecute Jason's case. He and Jason are enemies. In spite of missing Dillon like crazy, I really am enjoying Lulu and Logan. They have chemistry. Zach and Kendall had another week of powerful storyline! I really am enjoying it though it is very sad. Well, it is time for some more medicine so I will talk to everyone later.
Well, aside from being viciously sick with a very evil cold, I've been feeling pretty motivated lately. I've started looking into schools again. I miss school and I want to better my education and persue a job where I'm not left unfulfilled. I was looking into doing a vet assistant program but now again I'm not sure. Arrgh. I go back and forth with what I want to do. Maybe I'll cave and just become a cop. I'd be perfectly content being a desk jockey for the time I have on the force and maybe go to school and have THEM pay for my doing forensic and criminal psychology. Or something like that. maybe some law. I don't know. I really enjoy all that as well.
Aside from my wonderful personal struggles, life is pretty good. Things are great as usual between David and myself. I have a good paying job as does he. Life is pretty... good. I enjoy it. Tonight we'll be going out to dinner with this nice husband and wife. They wanted us to do this side worky business thing but neither of us is interested. Friday I'm going to go see the new Bourne movie as well. I finally saw the second one this week and rewatched the first one last week. So good. Matt Damon -thumbs up-
Onto the real stuff! General Hospital is as riveting as ever. Not many people seem to think so but I think the show is REALLY picking up now. I know we have the dumb who's the daddy storyline and Jason is on trial for murder (surprise there
). Maybe I'm just sensing the calm before the storm. November sweeps is approaching and maybe I'm just picking up on what looks to be like a edge of your seat kind of thing. I'm enjoying the Sonny/Kate dynamic. Jason and Liz make me a bit ill but I'm DYING to see this whole thing blow up in her face. I miss the old Lucky. I don't mean JJ but when he was in the role the character had more spunk. He had an edge. He had a spine!! I'm hoping to get to see a new Lucky who'll embrace all the old Lucky characteristics I enjoyed. Also TG will be coming back and I'm curious to see what's going to happen with him and Lulu. Jax and Carly are what I'm staring at and studying at the moment. I want them to stay together. Jax needs a strong woman in his life and Carly fills the void for him. It's a nice sweet and sour combo. I think for right now that is about it. I'm at work and coughing up what seems to be my right lung today so I'm off to try and make it through until 5:30.
