Three characters dominate my thoughts after wrapping up  this week's episodes of One Life to Live.  One is a degenerate psychopath.  One is an idiotic teenage boy. And the final one is a complete and utter moron.

 

A Degenerate Psychopath

Let's start with Todd.  I was appalled by the scene of him picking Marty up in his arms to carry her downstairs.  This is a woman he once raped, who has lost all of her memories.  Correct that, she is not merely the woman he raped, he led and encouraged others in gang-raping her.  He is supposed to have felt tortured by this all these years? Hogwash.  He would never lay a hand on her if that were the case.  I actually felt queasy watching him pick her up.  And then he filled her head with lies by saying how John is responsible for breaking up his marriage to Blair and him losing his kids.  Oh, and then he lied again and told her that she doesn't have any children.  Although who can really blame him for that, because after all, what was the alternative?  He would have had to tell her that her son was dead, or was in prison for raping his daughter, in order to explain why he hadn't brought her son to see her.  What a sacrifice.  That Todd, it must be so tough always putting others ahead of himself.

 

An Idiotic Teenage Boy

Poor Cole.***  Yes, he's in pain from losing both of his parents and thinks he has no one in the world (although that belief is wrong since the degenerate psychopath discussed above is hiding his mother, but I digress).  He thinks it will be so wonderful to have a mini-version of himself and Starr to take care of.   The kid obviously had no idea what it will be like to take care of a baby.  Much less alone if he and Starr are not together.  He thinks he is going to take care of this kid and hold a job?  He's 17 for crying out loud!  I think Starr's choice of Michael and Marcie is ridiculous, and while there is some obvious self-interest in not sacrificing her future, she really is thinking of what is best for the baby.    I can't believe Cole is going to tell Todd next week that Starr is pregnant in hopes of keeping her from giving the baby away.  Does he not remember that Todd almost killed him twice and caused Starr to fall down a flight of stairs.  All sympathy I ever had for Cole is now gone with this stunt he is about to pull.

 

A Complete and Utter Moron

Poor Bo.***  I don't even know what to say. I mean, seriously, the man is such a moron.  I've written about him before and don't know that I can add anything substantive here, but I couldn't write about this week's episodes without mentioning his stupidity.  And of course, Nora will be blamed by everyone for ruining Bo's happiness.  Hello! He was about to marry a woman who killed someone and faked a nervous breakdown to get out of it.  What in the world is Nora supposed to do?  She is the district attorney. Oh, and Lindsay was about to be her son's step-mother.  I was rather surprised at Clint's reaction when Nora told him.  I would have thought he would have taken on the burden of telling Bo privately before the ceremony.  But everyone seems to give Lindsey the benefit of the doubt no matter what.  Poor Bo, poor, poor Bo.***

 

***Please note that when I say "Poor Cole" and "Poor Bo", it is the equivalent of us Texans saying "Bless Your Heart" to someone, which basically mean "You poor thing, you are such an idiot".

I've grown tired of Marty's amnesia already. The sooner she gets her memory back, the better she can get back to her life and her son. It must be murder on Susan Haskell to have to suffer through these roles. Marty needs to regain her memory now more than ever because Cole is looking to be in even more danger with Todd than he ever was. Even though Cole is one of my least favorite people as of late, he is still a kid after all and Todd is a grown man who is much taller and darker than him. The only thing that ever restrained Todd from assaulting Cole in the past was Mama Marty's presence. Once she was gone, all bets were off as far as he was concerned. And if Marty was around, she would help Cole see that putting the baby up for adoption is indeed the right thing to do (kudos to Starr for making the right decision for the first time since all of this mess began). There is no way that Cole can be ready to take on fatherhood. He only wants to hold on to the baby for selfish reasons.

 

Anyway, Marty is very needed right now. She needs to hurry up and recover so she can get back into the swing of things.

Just in case we had forgotten over the past year or so, OLTL gave us a stark reminder this week of what a repugnant human being Todd Manning can be. Any father is going to be mortified to walk into a room and see his 16 year old daughter in bed with a guy, but Todd was insane. I kept waiting for the perfect line to come out of Starr's mouth--"Cole's not a rapist, Dad, that's you." We may not have gotten that line, but the performances this week definitely delivered. Kudos to Blair, who was awesome this week. When Todd looked like he was going to hit Starr, and Blair said "If you ever raise your hand to Starr again, you will never see any of your children again", I literally stood up and cheered. Blair once again proved that, despite all her faults, she will put herself and her own feelings aside and be one incredible mother. Todd, as we know from years of watching him, cannot put himself aside. Yes, he's been a good father who protects his children. But as Starr has grown up, he cannot put himself aside and see that she is growing up and allow it. Imagine how horrifying it would be to be Starr, about to sleep with her long-term boyfriend for the first time, to have her father walk in, beat him and almost kill him on what is supposed to be the best night of her life. The scenes between Blair and Starr were fantastic as Blair tried to be there for her daughter and didn't condascend to her or judge her.

The way Todd talked to Langston was mortifying. Calling her "Little Orphan Annie" and saying that she was jealous of Starr because Starr has parents and hers are dead was downright cruel. A runner-up award goes to Dorian for giving it right back to Todd. I wish she had kicked him out of her house right there, but she does have to think of Blair and the kids.

Another runner-up award to John McBain for going to Cole's defense. Why is no one arresting Todd for assaulting Cole (not to mention Markko)? As Nora pointed out, Starr is at the age of consent in Pennsylvania, so Cole can't be arrested. Yes, John is a cop and shouldn't have decked Todd, but he's honoring Marty's memory by protecting her son and you've gotta love him for that. I think John has to be one of the sexiest guys on daytime.

Hats off to Blair this week, who captures my first award as "Llanview Resident of the Week".

Well it's been a while since I've blogged so bear with me please cause I got a lot to say. Since this is technically a soap site I'll start there------GENERAL HOSPITAL- Where to begin Jason and Elizabeth(my Liason) still are'nt together, but their getting close, even though there's a bit of a drought right now, as far as Liason scenes go, but it's said that Guza is speeding up storylines so it should be good. How is what Lucky doing ok, he knows Sam is seducing him and he's letting her, he's a DOG Lucky and Sam, or as I call them the Village Idiot and Wednesday Adams deserve eachother just get away from Liz/Jason. Poor Laticia she was a victim of the new Mob War Sonny and Carly telling Michael was a tearjerker. Kirsten Storms(Maxie) was arrested on DUI hopefully she does'nt actually think she's Maxie, and she better not become the Lohan of soaps. Lulu bugs the hell out of me this little girl running around acting like she owns the town just because of who her parents are Ughhh! I can't wait till she finds out about Logans bet with Maxie, but I'm scared it's going to be a reason to show her more complaining about Love to poor Spinelli. There is Rumors out in cyberspace that Anthony Zacharra son is going to become interested in Elizabeth, and maybe kidnapp her as she goes on vacation in real life, but there's also rumors that Liz will be sent to prison for perjury as she goes on vacation so who knows? I'll just watch and enjoy the show as it happens, even though I'm addicted to Spoilers.

----ONE LIFE TO LIVE--- Ok so I don't watch a lot of one life, but when I do it's usually to see what Todds up to, so what do I see but a corrupt cop locking him up, if for no other reason but to keep him away from baby brother Michael and Marcie and there adopted son, who is really the son of Todd. Anyway the McBains are annoying trying to keep Todd away from his child, it's not like Todd gave him up for adoption and all of a sudden wants him back, he's gone through hell and back to get his son, and all these people keeping the secret, and letting Todd almost die a million times, I hope Todd makes them all pay. I can't stand Natalie ever, I used to like Nash when he first came on the show, now he's just a whipped wuss, can he and Jess get a better story please.

 

Moving on now to ----Nascar--- The final 12 have been set in the Race for the Chase, and my Dale JR. is'nt in it, Oh well what can you do? I'll still root for him to win all the races he can this year, if that's possible he'll probobly just have more engine failures, really what has it been like of his 6 DNFs 5 were engine failures, I don't know what DEI is doing, but they better figure it out cause JR. won't be there to be their guinne pig next year. DEI has decided to put Mark Martin in the 8 car next year along with Aric Amirolla, you know they think people won't boo Mark, but their gonna boo the heck out of Amirolla and who ever else gets in the 8, even though JR asked people to back off the attacks on Teresa, if only for his little sister sake, I'm not sure that will happen. Joe Gibbs is going to Toyota, A lot of the fans from what I've read on other sites are super pissed, I'm not quite sure it makes a difference, but what do I know? I guess we'll see if Tony Stewart, Denny and Kyle can bring Toyota into the winners circle, and now there's rumblings that Tony's going to leave Gibbs.

--------NFL------- My DALLAS COWBOYS won big, even though the defence gave up 35 points we still won by 10, Tony Romo did awsome, after everyone kept bringing up the bobbled snap from last year, oh yeah they played the NY GIANTS, and Eli Manning was taken out with a minor dislocation of the shoulder seems he might be out for a month some say he could be back sooner. A Bills player was extremely injured in their game, he had to have major surgery on his neck I believe, and everyone said that he would be paralyzed, but now Thankfully it's being reported that there's a good chance he'll be walking out of the hospital.

 

----The MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS----What the Hell was that?  Of course I must start with Miss Britany Spears, really at least before she attempted to perform, she was'nt even trying to make it look like she was singing, then she was just kind of standing there totally out of it, anyway Chris Brown stole the show IMO but anyone who does a little Michael Jackson dedication is good with me. Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a fight, apperantly over Pamela Anderson, I've met Pam Anderson ok and she's not all that, she puts on enough make up to rebuild the desert, but she must have beer flavored nipples for these 2 hounds to be addicted to her the way they are, she is quite experienced. All in all the show kind of sucked, Why does MTV always have to fix things that are'nt broken, they did it with the rock and sock softball games they used to have, then they stopped playing videos witch I thought was the point of there station, now all I wanted to see was big performances by good artists, and they shove them all in these little hotel rooms and make them throw them their own party ehhh wrong give me my MTV back! Oh and Kanye West who threw a hissy fit because he did'nt win needs to get a grip and realize the world don't revolve around him try being humble for once in your self obsessed life Kanye, it's just dissapointing cause he's a really good artist and his new song is good, and he has to screw it up by acting like an ass.
