Brytni Sarpy has packed her bags for a big move from Port Charles, New York, to Genoa City, Wisconsin. The General Hospital actress has landed a new contract role on The Young and the Restless.
Soap Opera Digest reports that Sarpy "has joined the cast of Y&R in the contract role of Elena Dawson." There's no additional word on who Elena is and what the character's future storyline might hold, but Sarpy is slated to start taping this week.
Sarpy joined General Hospital in 2015 as Valerie Spencer, the niece of the iconic Luke Spencer. In recent years, the character has been seen only sporadically, but that's changed over the past few weeks. There's no word yet on how GH will handle Sarpy's exit.
Sarpy makes her Y&R debut on Tuesday, March 19.
