Days of our Lives has had quite the trio in charge since 2017, with Ron Carlivati serving as head writer, Ryan Quan as a writer, and Sheri Anderson as creative consultant. But the powerhouse triangle is about to lose its shape: Anderson has announced that she is no longer part of the DAYS writing team.
In a post shared on Twitter, the writer reveals: "For those who are asking, I am no longer on the show, but had another great run there. My final script will air on Friday, March 15. Please tune in!"

Anderson has a rich history at DAYS. She first joined the show as a staff writer from 1975 to September 1976 and returned in the same role in October 1981. She was promoted to head writer in April 1982 and held the position alongside Margaret DePriest, Thom Racina, and Leah Laiman until November 1986. DAYS brought her back for a brief stint as story consultant from October 1988 to February 1989 and as a staff writer from July 1990 to March 1991. She returned once more as a head writer from June 1992 to April 1993, a position she shared with Gene Palumbo and James E. Reilly outside of a short run as the show's sole head writer from August to December in 1992.
In addition to bringing her thorough knowledge of Salem to the show's current writing team, Anderson's major mark on the show was helping in the creation of several of DAYS' most iconic supercouples, including Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), Patch (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) and Kimberly Donovan (Patsy Pease). She also created fan favorite characters like John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), Anna DiMera (Leanne Hunley), Larry Welch (Andrew Hyatt Masse), Austin Reed (Patrick Muldoon/Austin Peck), and Billie Reed (Lisa Rinna).
Anderson also worked on other DAYS projects, including writing the fiction novel series Salem's Secrets, Scandals and Lies, which is based on the NBC soap opera, and co-creating two proposed DAYS spin-offs, Keeping Up with the Jones' (which would have followed the life of Calliope [Arleen Sorkin] and Eugene [John de Lancie]) and Manhattan Lives (which would have followed Marlena's [Deidre Hall] life in Manhattan).
Anderson's other daytime credits include General Hospital, Guiding Light, Another World, Falcon Crest, and Santa Barbara.
DAYS has yet to announce who will serve as Anderson's replacement or if the position has been eliminated.
