Daily Recaps
There was not a new column this week, so instead, please take a look back at what was happening during the week of July 26, 2004.

Families are the ties that bind - but sometimes you want to strangle them, too! It seems like some of the families in Springfield are really chomping at the bit this summer.

Earlier this month, I was involved in a family wedding when my only nephew Johnny got married to his long-time friend turned girlfriend Dawn. I've known Johnny since he was a year old (when I met his uncle/my husband) and Dawn since she was about 8 years old. So when they finally got married, it was a happy day.

But when they asked me to be the official photographer, I got a little nervous. True, I have a great new digital camera that I bought recently, but I hadn't played with it too much yet to feel 100% comfortable taking once in a lifetime pictures. And something else really struck me - I don't know all of the dynamics of the brides family - who doesn't get along - who I should have pose for a photo with the happy couple? On the other hand, the Spaulding/Cooper wedding looks to be a pretty stressful event. As we saw last week, the two families couldn't get through a simple meal together without wanting to come to blows. I can't wait to see what they do with the wedding that almost "was." (I still can't see them having the wedding since they are going to this much trouble to show ever building tension and guilt Gus has over his lie to protect Alex). I am so grateful that I didn't have to photograph this dysfunctional family in all of their finery. Just remembering that the father of the groom and his son have both been married to (and aren't really speaking to) Olivia would be hard enough to remember! Somehow I can't picture Alex and Frank with Buzz in a family photo!!

In another family, the Santos family, we have a woman without any memory having hot and steamy dances with her husband's cousin. And he's having hot dreams about the off-limits Michelle as well. We all know where this is going. While I don't mind the "new" Michelle (they were really making the "old" one too lily-pure like they did to Beth all those years ago) this might be going a little too far for me. Tony knows she's married (SHE knows she's married, too, for that matter) so he should stay away. Can't anyone in town be happy for awhile?

And over in the Mayoral Mansion (also known as the Marler household) I can't imagine how Ross will be able to handle his fugitive daughter's return to Springfield? It's a little hard to watch Frank's career go down in flames when your daughter - a murderer for heaven's sake - waltzes back into town. Talk about a stressful holiday. Dinah murdered Blake's half-brother Hart. Maybe the castaways can all eat at Company this year!!

Well, I am off this week for my own little family holiday - trekking around the National Parks of the Southwest for 12 days. I'll miss several episodes of GL while I am gone (since my tape only holds maybe 6 episodes) but will be back on August 15th with new "Two Scoops." Dan will probably have someone fill in doing spoilers for you while I am gone, so please be sure to check them out. (For those who don't know, I don't own this site - I merely pass the info on to be posted to GL fans everywhere). I hope everyone is having a safe and happy summer and I'll talk to you when I get back!

Keep the Light Shining and Have a Great Week!
Kimberly
